Elizabeth was the first child of Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI), and his wife, Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon (later better known as Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother). His father was the second son of King George V and Queen Mary. While his mother is the youngest daughter of a Scottish nobleman named Claude Bowes-Lyon. As granddaughter of the King of Great Britain, Elizabeth's title after her birth was His Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth of York (The Honorable Princess Elizabeth of York). Elizabeth was third in the line of succession to the throne after her uncle, Edward, Prince of Wales, and severe, Duke of York. Elizabeth met her future husband, Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark in 1934 and 1937. They were both cousins ​​in the second line based on the lineage of King Christian IX of Denmark and third cousin in the Queen Victoria line. After another meeting at the United Kingdom Naval School at Dartmouth in July 1939, Elizabeth, then 13 years old, revealed that she was in love with Prince Philip and then they both began to write. Their engagement was accompanied by controversy: Philip lacked adequate financial fundamentals and was a foreign-born (though he had served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War). Philip also has a sister who has been married to a Nazi German nobleman. Marion Crawford writes: "Some of the counselors of the King think that he [Philip] is not good enough for Elizabeth, he is a houseless prince or kingdom, some advisers also question the status of Philip who is a foreign-born. In his later biography, it was reported that Queen Elizabeth Bowes initially opposed this engagement, even calling him Philip "him". Elizabeth and Philip married on November 20, 1947 at Westminster Abbey. They both received 2500 wedding gifts from guests and guests around the world. After their marriage, the couple rented Windlesham Moor near Windsor Castle, and settled there until July 4, 1949. After that, they moved to Clarence House in London. Between 1949 and 1951, the Duke of Edinburgh was assigned to the British Protectorate of Malta as a Navy officer serving the Royal Navy. She and Elizabeth settled for a few months in a villa belonging to Philip's uncle in Gwardamanġia, Malta, while the children stayed in England.
